Waxing at Home: Legs, Bikini, Lips & Eyebrows

The Quick & Easy Way to Wax Like a Pro

Let’s face it, ladies. We all have unwanted hair. And, although you may think waxing is complicated and messy, it doesn’t have to be. With Nair™ Wax Ready-Strips you don’t have to be an expert. They’re convenient and easy to use. No pricey salon appointment required.

So, how do you get started? Just read the simple tips below and you’ll have long-lasting, smooth skin in no time.

The Dos and Don'ts of Waxing at Home

DO:

Exfoliate: Ingrown hairs can cause redness, bumps and irritation. Not a good look. So you won’t want to skip this step. At least 24 hours before waxing, lightly rub skin in a circular motion with a loofa or washcloth. But be gentle or you could end up with irritated skin anyway.

Cleanse: We all have our favorite lotions and creams, but when waxing, they’re a no go. Waxes work best when skin is free of oils, creams and perspiration. So, before you start, wash skin with soap and water, then dry thoroughly.

Powder: Unless we’re getting in a good workout, we’re not big fans of sweat. And neither is wax. If skin is moist, it simply won’t adhere properly. So, if you’re perspiring, it’s a good idea to lightly dust your skin with powder.

Hydrate: You hear it all the time, but H2O really is one of the simplest things you can do for your skin. And it’s a great way to prep before waxing. A hydrated body means hydrated, healthy skin and a lesser chance of getting ingrown hairs.

Moisturize: We can’t say it enough. Moisturized skin is beautiful skin. So, once you’re done waxing, use either baby oil or the post wipes included with our Nair™ Wax Ready-Strips to soothe and moisturize skin. Bonus: It will also help remove any leftover wax residue.

DON'T:

Wait Too Long Between Waxes: Trust us, if you try to wax hair that’s too long, it can make for a more difficult and painful experience. No one wants that. So, be sure the hair is no longer than ½”. If necessary, trim it shorter.

Wax Sensitive Skin: Okay, this one may sound obvious. But we’ve all been tempted to do things even when we know we shouldn’t. If you have cuts or a sunburn, hold off waxing until your skin has healed. Many women also find they’re more sensitive to pain right before their period, so you might have a better experience if you wait a couple days.

Wax the Same Way All Over: No matter what part of the body you’re waxing, be sure to pull the wax strips off in the opposite direction of hair growth. It’s not only more effective, but also less painful. The trick is, hair grows in different directions on different parts of the body. But, not to worry. The tabs below will help guide you through every step.
